Russian-born Galina Orloff arrived in the US, illegally, at age 16, determined to make it as a star of stage and screen. Broadway producer Earl Carroll saw her and put her in his lineup. In order to stay in the country, she married a young second balcony usher named Edward Finn. He truly loved her but she couldn’t care less. In 1935 she took up with Lucky Luciano, a bad move. Luciano was under the spotlight as a pimp and dope pusher and someone from the DA’s office told Ed Finn about his wife’s affair with the gangster. He divorced her. The government tossed her out of the country. She was supposed to have killed herself in paris after the Second World War.
